Gear System
Equipment Slots
Your character has several equipment slots, and each slot accepts specific types of gear. Better equipment makes combat and exploration safer, especially in dangerous areas.
| Combat Role | Item Type | Matrix Use | Level Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Melee Weapon | Sword, spear, dagger, axe, mace, staff | Used when no ranged weapon is active | 0-26 |
| Ranged Weapon | Bow, crossbow, shuriken, blowdart, sling | Active attack while equipped | 0-26 |
| Body Armor | Leather, breastplate, tunic, scalemail | Checked separately for each hit | 0-26 |
| Shield | Standard or dragon shield | Checked separately for each hit | 0-26 |
These four roles may be equipped simultaneously. Ranged weapons and shields are separate; neither removes the other. Utility categories and visual render layers do not decide combat behavior.
Attack Types
Weapons
Weapons define the attack row used by the matrix. Their advantage depends on the target's protection rather than one universal damage ranking. Maces use the restored axe row for their damage matchups.
| Matrix Row | Current Equipment | Style | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sword | Swords | Melee | Exact |
| Axe | Axes and maces | Melee | Exact row; mace alias |
| Crossbow / Shuriken | Crossbows and shuriken | Ranged | Exact grouped row |
| Longbow / Blowdart | Longbows and blowdarts | Ranged | Exact grouped row |
| Martial Art | Virtual Martial Arts profile | Melee | Exact row, virtual equipment |
| Staff | Staves | Melee | Exact |
Unarmed combat has its own row. Weapon permissions, range rules, dodge effects, and skill effects use their own defined rules. A weapon name does not add hidden critical-hit, armor-penetration, or two-handed equipment rules.
Protection
Armor
The server checks incoming damage against your armor and shield separately, then uses whichever one reduces that hit the most.
| Protection Row | Role | Selection | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leather Armor | Body armor | Competes per hit | Exact |
| Breastplate | Body armor | Competes per hit | Exact |
| Shield | Shield | Competes per hit | Exact |
| Oiyoi Tunic | Virtual Martial Arts armor | Competes per hit | Exact row |
Dragon Shield and Dragon Scalemail retain distinct historical rows. Boots, gloves, and utility gear count as armor only when their combat data says they do.
Single-Use Items
Consumables
Consumables provide healing, temporary bonuses, or special effects. Keep useful consumables in your inventory before entering a dangerous area.
| Category | Effects | Duration | Stacking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Health Potions | Instant HP restoration | Instant | 10-second cooldown between uses |
| Buff Potions | Stat increases (attack, defense, etc.) | 5-30 minutes | One buff type per category |
| Bandages | HP over time (out of combat) | 30 seconds | Interrupted by damage |
| Food | HP/stamina regen, well-fed buff | 1 hour | One food buff active |
| Bolas | Immobilize target for 5 seconds | 5 seconds | 30m range, single target |
Bolas are particularly useful against fleeing creatures like Phase Skitterers. Thrown within 30 meters, they immobilize the target for 5 seconds—enough time to prevent an escape and secure the kill.
Inventory
Backpacks & Storage
Your equipped backpack determines how much you can carry. New players receive a basic satchel, while larger packs must be crafted or purchased.
| Backpack | Slots | Weight Limit | Special |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter Satchel | 12 | 50 kg | Cannot be lost |
| Traveler's Pack | 20 | 100 kg | — |
| Adventurer's Haversack | 30 | 200 kg | Water-resistant |
| Merchant's Trunk | 40 | 500 kg | Trade bonus |
You can add more storage by building Storehouseson your territory. Storehouses keep items until they are removed, and kingdom members can use them when they have permission. Enemies can raid storehouses during a war.
Inventory Management
Stacking Rules
Stackable items combine in one inventory slot. Knowing the stack limits helps you use your available space efficiently.
| Item Type | Stack Size | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Raw Materials | 999 | Ore, wood, herbs, etc. |
| Refined Materials | 999 | Ingots, leather, planks |
| Consumables | 20-50 | Varies by item |
| Currency | Unlimited | Gold, bricks (separate counter) |
| Equipment | 1 | Never stacks (unique instances) |
Equipment never stacks because each item can have its own upgrade level and enchantments. A full set of backup equipment therefore uses several slots.
Auto-sort groups your inventory by category and combines partial stacks. Use it whenever you need to free space or find items more quickly.
