Skills and Classes

How to spend skill points, specialize your character, and change your build

Foundation

Skill Trees Overview

Skills let you shape your Claimant around your preferred playstyle. They are organized into three main trees:Combat, Crafting, and Utility. Each tree has several branches with different specializations.

You earn skill points through gameplay and can spend them on any skill whose requirements you meet. Most skills have five levels. Each level adds a bonus, and some levels unlock an ability or passive effect.

You can spread points across all three trees, but specializing can make you stronger in one role. A combat-focused build deals with fights more effectively, while a crafting-focused build produces better items.

Specialization

Player Classes

You can also specialize in Classes. A class unlocks after you invest in a specific combination of skills and provides passive bonuses and a unique ability.

RangerPathfinder 3, Scout 3Mark Prey: +50% damage to target

Class abilities have long cooldowns but can provide a major combat or economic advantage. Changing classes requires an expensive skill reset.

Progression

Leveling & Skill Points

Skill points are earned through gaining experience levels. Each level grants one skill point to invest. Additionally, certain achievements and quests reward bonus skill points.

The cost to upgrade a skill increases with each level. Level 1 costs 1 point, Level 2 costs 2 points, and so forth. A fully maxed skill (Level 5) requires a total of 15 skill points (1+2+3+4+5).

You can reset your skills, but repeated resets become expensive. The first reset each month is free, and later resets cost increasing amounts of gold. Plan your build before spending points.
