How to craft something
Choose a recipe
Open the crafting menu and select a scroll or recipe. Read its ingredients, required skills, and crafting time.
Gather the materials
Collect what the recipe requires or look for supplies through trade. Make sure you have the right quantities before starting.
Check where you need to be
Some work must be done within 30 m of your own Forge or Smoking Rack. Building recipes also need a valid location on the map.
Start and finish the craft
Begin the action and follow its progress in the game. Completed equipment and supplies go to inventory; completed buildings appear at their placement location.
Learn skills that support your plans
Crafting skills unlock recipes and can improve production. Check the skill description and recipe requirements before spending materials on a new line of work.
You do not need to make everything yourself. Gather what you can, trade for missing materials, and choose a few useful recipes to learn first.
Use the right workplace
Forge and Smoking Rack requirements depend on the recipe; you work at one you own. Smelting turns ore into metal at your Forge, while other recipes make equipment, supplies, or structures.
Check the displayed workplace, ingredients, and outcome before starting a job. Your current skills affect which options are available.
Build beyond your inventory
Some recipes place structures on the map instead of producing a carried item. Pick valid ground and check the building’s requirements before construction.
Rift Lanterns use their own territory placement flow. Follow the map action when you are making a claim.
Common questions
Why is a recipe unavailable?
Check its required skills, ingredients, and workplace. Construction also depends on whether the selected location is valid.
Can I cancel crafting?
Supported crafting cancellation returns the reserved materials. Use the active job’s cancellation control and check the resulting inventory and job state.
Where can I see the recipes?
The in-game crafting menu shows recipes and your current requirements. The Player Guide provides a separate crafting reference.
