Fractara gameplay · Breach dossier 08

Eight worlds wait beneath the map.

Fractara's live Pocket Dimensions turn overworld breaches into server-owned dungeon expeditions. The current catalog contains eight configured dimensions, 39 floors, and 64 authored rooms with local movement, hazards, locked progression, combat, durable loot, bosses, skill altars, completion rewards, and saved runs.

Entry sequence

The world map is the first room.

A breach starts in shared geography, but the expedition begins only after the backend accepts its place, cost, level, and cooldown.

  1. 01

    Find the breach

Reach a dungeon entrance on the overworld map. Entry is proximity-checked against the authoritative entrance and the character must be within 75 meters.

  2. 02

    Meet the threshold

The service checks the dimension's minimum level, entrance cooldown, and one Void Compass. The item is consumed only through the accepted entry transaction.

  3. 03

    Receive an instance

The backend creates the instance identifier, generates its authored layout, persists character membership, and returns the first floor and room. Client-supplied instance IDs are ignored.

  4. 04

    Descend room by room

Local movement, room transitions, locked doors, hazards, mobs, interactables, and floor changes are all scoped to the current instance and validated by the server.

Breach atlas

Eight collisions. Eight rules of danger.

Every current catalog definition has a generated room configuration validated by the backend at runtime. Each contains eight authored rooms distributed across its floor count.

Room anatomy

A floor is a state machine you can walk through.

Rooms are not decorative backgrounds. The current layout carries door graphs, local coordinates, mob spawns, hazards, interactables, and clear state. A valid transition must follow the authored connection and arrive through the correct doorway.

Combat and custody

Clear the room. Carry the evidence home.

01 · Pressure

Room-scoped combat

Attacks and retaliation validate the active instance, floor, room, range, target, cooldown, and server-derived character state. Dungeon death includes the responsible creature in the combat record.

02 · Progression

No respawn after clear

Dungeon mobs use zero respawn time. The final kill persists the room as cleared and opens doors authored to unlock on clear, turning combat outcome into navigable state.

03 · Recovery

Durable world loot

Calculated XP and gold accompany eligible kills. Item drops become durable world objects bound to the instance and room; pickup still checks current membership and distance.

04 · Mastery

Boss-linked skills

Boss paths can expose altars that consume authored materials and permanently unlock linked skills. The exit portal then validates completion rewards and starts the entrance cooldown.

Two ways back

An exit and a saved run are different contracts.

The UI names the distinction because the backend preserves it. There is no silent assumption that leaving means saving.

Ordinary exit

Leave without saving

Return to the session scope and clear active dungeon membership. This is not a promise that the current run will be recoverable.

OR
Rift Walker

Save the same instance

Save & Exit requires Rift Walker, preserves the run, grants a Rift Torch, and uses that torch to resume the original instance and entrance later.

This is a first-party live-system record reviewed by Mask on July 17, 2026. Counts and rules describe the current catalog and connected implementation; balance or availability changes should trigger review.

  • All eight current dungeon definitions have generated, runtime-validated room configurations: 39 floors and 64 authored rooms in total.
  • Entry requires a real backend entrance, correct zone, minimum level, one Void Compass, cooldown clearance, and proximity within 75 meters.
  • The backend owns instance identity, layout generation, floor and room membership, local position, door state, interactables, mobs, and world-item state.
  • Dungeon mobs are authored with zero respawn time. Killing the final living mob clears the room and unlocks its progression doors.
  • Kills grant server-calculated XP and gold and can create durable, instance-and-room-scoped loot that still requires a valid nearby pickup.
  • Boss rooms can expose skill altars and exit portals. Completion rewards and entrance cooldown begin through the validated portal flow.
  • Rift Walker enables Save & Exit, grants a Rift Torch, and lets the same run resume later. Without it, Save & Exit is rejected rather than silently discarding progress.

One world above and below

Pocket Dimensions deepen the location loop.

Entrances make the overworld matter; combat converts expedition risk into progression and materials; crafting turns those materials into capability; territory and travel shape how Claimants return to the next breach.

Expedition questions

Pocket Dimensions, directly answered.

What are Pocket Dimensions in Fractara?

Pocket Dimensions are location-gated, server-owned dungeon instances entered from breaches on Fractara's overworld map. Each uses authored floors, rooms, doors, hazards, creatures, loot, a boss path, and dimension-specific progression inside the persistent character economy.

How many Pocket Dimensions are in Fractara?

The current shared and backend-validated catalog contains eight configured Pocket Dimensions. Together they define 39 floors and 64 authored rooms, spanning minimum levels 5 through 35.

How do I enter a Pocket Dimension?

Reach its entrance in the correct world zone, stand within 75 meters, meet the minimum level, have one Void Compass, and wait for any entrance cooldown to expire. The backend validates and consumes the cost before creating the instance.

Do monsters respawn inside Pocket Dimensions?

No. Current dungeon mob definitions use zero respawn time. When the last living mob in a room is killed, the backend marks that room cleared and opens doors configured to unlock on clear.

Can I leave a Pocket Dimension and continue later?

Yes, through Save & Exit when the character has Rift Walker. Saving preserves the same instance and grants a Rift Torch used to resume it. Without Rift Walker, Save & Exit is rejected; an ordinary exit is a separate leave-without-saving path.

What rewards come from Pocket Dimensions?

Dungeon combat can award XP, gold, and durable loot drops. Authored dimensions also define gatherable resources, boss materials, completion XP and gold, and skill altars whose requirements can permanently unlock dimension-linked skills.
